You Won't Believe What Happened to Me

So this is wild. I was up in our garage the other day grabbing some old chairs off the rafters, and I found this trunk I had zero memory of. I dragged it down, popped it open, and it was completely stuffed. Thousands of letters, some from before 1970. Turns out it belonged to the family who sold us the house 30 years ago. A neighbor helped me track the guy down, and get this, he got that trunk from his mom when he was 14. He's 75 now and has been wondering where it went for decades. We're actually meeting up this fall to give it back in person. I already had this company up and running before any of this happened, but finding that trunk just confirmed everything I already believed. Some things really are worth the wait.

Forever Changed

My dad was 60 when he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Four months later, he was gone. My kids were only 8, 6, and 4 at the time, and he adored them. The kind of grandpa who'd get down on the floor to play, who made them laugh just by walking into the room.

They're in their twenties now. I wish he could see who they've become. He'd be so proud.

A few years ago, I found a letter he'd written me back in 1995. Reading it again, it felt like he was still here. Like he was showing up for me across time.

That's when this idea I'd had 17 years ago came back to me. What if my dad could have written my kids letters to open on their 21st birthday, or their wedding day, or when they had their first child? It felt crazy back then. But finding that letter made it feel real.

So I created Timely Hello, a way to help people preserve love, share wisdom, and offer comfort through handwritten letters delivered in the future.
